In 2014, “Best European Event” was awarded to “La Cinéscénie”. This is THE show that has made this historic theme park such a success, and it never ceases to impress the 360,000 spectators who come to see it every year.
La Cinéscénie
This year, the Cinéscénie celebrated its 45th anniversary. This existence is the fruit of the imagination of Philippes de Villiers, who was impressed and inspired by the ruins of the Château du Puy du Fou in 1977.
Since then, this one of the world’s greatest shows has undergone countless script revisions and technical effects additions. This makes it ever more appealing, and even makes those who have already been there want to return. They go with family or friends, and we can guarantee that they don’t regret it, as they come away with stars in their eyes. And those stars aren’t the ones that light up the show, which takes place at night.
No, they’re generated by the beauty of the performances, which use over 1,000 fireworks, 150 dizzyingly high water jets, 8,000 spotlights, autonomous drones, 3D video projections…
Sound, light and choreography retrace and embellish theVendée story, which is presented to a moving and impressed audience. The script changes and evolves, but it’s always about the Maupillier family. The Maupillier family serves as the basis for introducing the audience to the people of the Vendée and their lives, from medieval times to the Second World War.
This scenario is supported by over 4,200 volunteers, including 2,500 actors, 120 riders and over a hundred technicians. All bend over backwards to ensure that this entertainment always lives up to expectations.
Practical info
The Puy du Fou is a 20-minute (20 km) drive from your accommodation at camping de la Motte in Vendée.
You can buy tickets for the Cinescénie only at €29 for both adults and children directly on the Puy du Fou website. But you can also buy a ticket for Puy du Fou and the show in question. This will cost you €64. If you want to enjoy a nice seat and admire the show and all its effects, you can pay an extra €8 or €19 to sit in the Silver or Gold Square seats respectively.
Please note that access is free for children under 3, but they will have to sit on your lap. Please note that the show lasts 1 h 30 and that you are advised to arrive one hour before the first performance. Warm clothing is also recommended.
